Althea Reinhardt was hit by a setback in her efforts to regain full fitness in the Champions League fixture against Krim Ljubliana over the weekend, and the Odense-keeper remains doubtful for the women's handball World Championships set to start at the end of November.

"The examination of the knee shows no new complications. To support the rehabilitation, Althea has had a blockade placed in the knee, as part of the overall treatment plan", say Odense on their website.

The Danish club do not provide a time frame for Reinhardt's recovery, and therefore, it is also unknown whether she will be ready to play in the tournament for Denmark.

Because of Reinhardt's injury, national team coach Helle Thomsen has called up a potential replacement for Reinhardt for the upcoming national team session immediately before the departure for the World Championships to be held in Rotterdam, ''s-Hertogenbosch, Dortmund, and Trier from 26 November to 14 December.

In a press release, the Danish Handball Federation say that Amalie Milling will be the back up for Anna Kristensen and Althea Reinhardt in the squad of 16 players, because Reinhardt has knee problems:

"We have called up Amalie Milling because we are still in doubt about how much Althea Reinhardt can play. Amalie is included on the same terms as the other training players, and therefore, no decision has been made in relation to the World Championships", says Helle Thomsen.
