The Danish handball men were ahead by three goals in the second half, but in rare fashion Sweden turned it around for a 33-30 victory in Sunday's test match.
Over 11,000 spectators in the Royal Arena in Copenhagen saw a Danish national team without several of the biggest profiles such as Mathias Gidsel, Simon Pytlick and Magnus Saugstrup.
The lack of the Danish profiles was particularly visible in the second half, which Sweden won by a whopping six goals.
Denmark was otherwise ahead with 16-13 at the break, and at the start of the second half, the Danes were also ahead 20-17, before the Swedes launched a terrific comeback in the match.
Led by Eric Johansson and Albin Lagergren in attack and Andreas Palicka in goal, Sweden restored parity at 22-22.
The Danes looked visibly deflated in the second half, and it didn't get any better when Jacob Holm was carried off the pitch with what looked like a serious injury.
"It's really sad. It was probably not a small injury. I have to go out and comfort him in the dressing room", said national coach Nikolaj Jacobsen to TV 2.
