Husso is 1-5-2 in eight starts this season for the Red Wings with a rough .866 save percentage and 3.69 goals against average. The move comes after concerns about current Ducks' goaltender John Gibson's (31) health, but Friedman says it wasn't a concern.
Husso joined the Red Wings in 2022 as the team's starting goalie but has since posted a 36-32 record with a .892 save percentage and 3.26, falling to a backup role the past two years.
The Finland native was taken in the fourth round of the 2014 NHL Draft and spent the first two years of his career with the St. Louis Blues before the move to Detroit.
Now, he'll be heading to Anaheim to join a Ducks team with a 25-24-7 record and is currently in the middle of a rebuild.
