New Jersey Devils' Timo Meier (28) has officially been suspended one game after cross-checking the Nashville Predators' Zach L'Heureux (21).

The suspension for Meier comes without pay, missing out on a $45,833.33 paycheck. The veteran will miss the upcoming game against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday.

Meier received a five-minute major penalty and game misconduct after L'Heureux didn't take kindly to the Devils' right winger attempting to poke the puck away from goalie, Juuse Saros.

L'Heureux didn't return to the game. It was an unfortunate turn for the youngster after he scored the second of goal his career earlier in the game. But it wasn't enough as the Devils went on to win 5-2.

Meier currently has seven goals and eight assists in 24 games for the Devils this season. He ranks fifth on the Devils in goals and seventh in points. The Devils acquired Meier back in 2023 in a trade with the San Jose Sharks and is currently under a massive eight-year, $70.4 million contract.

L'Heureux was drafted in the first round by the Predators in the 2021 NHL draft and made his debut in the NHL this year. The rookie right winger had been playing for the team's AHL affiliate, Milwaukee Admirals, since last year, posting 22 goals and 31 assists in 72 games with the team.
