The NHL Draft is fast approaching. The first round is scheduled for this week, Friday night to Saturday. Once again, there will be plenty of talented youngsters available. Flashscore News took a look at the five most intriguing goalies.

Joshua Ravensbergen

The nearly 6-foot-2 youngster is listed as the top goaltender of his year in all draft rankings. Although he ranked 16th in the WHL last season in average goals conceded per game (3.0) and 17th in save percentage (90.1%), scouts appreciate a lot of qualities about him.

He can cover a lot of space with his sturdy build, while moving effectively in the crease, is calm and works well with both his feet and hands. Going back to the stats, he made 51 appearances in the regular season and won 33 of those games. A national team invitation has eluded him so far.

Jack Ivankovic

Ivankovic played in the World Junior Championships as a 17-year-old, something that hadn't happened with Team Canada since 1987. He has two gold medals from the U18 World Championships. In addition, he was the number one player at this year's championship. In six games, he averaged only 1.05 goals per game and had a 96.1% save percentage. He kept a shutout twice.

He did it in the semi-final against Slovakia and in the final win over Sweden. Two years in the OHL made Ivankovic one of the best of his year, and from next season he will play in the NCAA at the prestigious University of Michigan. Scouts praise his quick moves, ability to read the play and stopping shots from the first, among other things.

Michal Pradel

It's practically open to say that Pradel will become the 17th goalie from Slovakia drafted into the NHL. He figures at the top of the masked men in all rankings. The native of Dolný Kubín grew up first in his hometown and later moved to Liptovsky Mikulas.

For a short time he was part of Banska Bystrica. He also tried Tipos SHL in the U18 project. In February, he joined the Tri-City Storm in the USHL overseas. In 14 games, he averaged 2.41 goals conceded per game and had an 89.9% save percentage. He also performed well at the recent U18 World Championships, where he helped the team to a fourth place finish.

He covered 91.4% of opponents' finishes, averaging 2.46 goals per game. Pradel was part of the recent U20 World Championship, but did not play. His strengths include calmness in the crease, excellent movement, he picks his position intelligently and doesn't get distracted.

Pjotr Andreyanov

The Russian goaltender was on the CSKA Moscow squad last season. Although he didn't make a single appearance in the KHL, he was very reliable in the MHL. He had great numbers in the reserve team of the famous club during the regular season. He had 23 wins in 37 matches. Only six times did he leave as a loser in regulation time.

Moreover, he let in only 1.75 goals per game and had a 94.2% save percentage. He is an athletic goaltender with excellent movement. Although he is slightly limited by his height (183 cm), he is able to get into an ideal position even in difficult situations and reads the game perfectly.

Lucas Beckman

Beckman was Canada's number two at the last U18 championship. He was in goal twice, once from the start. He averaged just 0.75 goals per game in net, adding a 95.5 per cent save success rate. In addition, he maintained a 91.4% save success rate in 52 QMJHL regular season games, averaging 2.65 goals per game.

In both metrics, he was in the top ten of the entire league. For a 17-year-old, that's a really great accomplishment. In addition, as a rookie, he recorded 31 wins and kept a shutout four times. Scouts appreciate his reliability, reading of the game or quick shifts from side to side.
