Skelleftea have regained second place in the Swedish Hockey League at the first time of asking as they recorded another shutout, beating fellow top-six side Vaxjo, while Rogle were defeated again, this time in a surprise home loss to Linkoping.

Vaxjo, on a three-match winning run, had the chance to move above both Rogle and oppoenents Skelleftea into second after the Yellow & Blacks were shocked by HV 71 last time out, and as the 30-minute mark ticked by with the score still 0-0, the result hung in the balance.

However, once Andreas Johnson took advantage of a powerplay to put the home side ahead with just over five minutes left in the second period, it was one-way traffic, as Rickard Hugg doubled the lead less than a minute later.

Jonathan Pudas added a third early in the final period, before Oscar Lindberg completed what had quickly turned into a rout with just under 10 minutes to play for a 4-0 final score.

Struass Mann saved all 32 shots the Lakers struck his way, as the Skelleftea goaltender recorded his ninth shutout of the season already, equaling the SHL record despite there still being half a season to play, in what was his side's seventh win in nine.

The consolation for Vaxjo is they remain in fourth thanks to their healthy advantage over the sides below them.

Beginning the day three points above the bottom two, Linkoping were not meant to be much of a threat to Rogle, but the strugglers took a surprise lead in the 11th minute when Fredrik Karlstrom scored shorthanded to put the visitors in front.

Rogle drew level through Albin Sundsvik with just over a minute of the opening period to play, only for Karlstrom to be the thorn in their side once again, restoring the Linkoping advantage in the second period.

The Angelholm side through everything at Linkoping in the final minutes in an attempt to equalise, including pulling the goaltender, but the end result was Christoffer Ehn skating away and shooting into an empty net to give Linkoping a 3-1 victory, their first in three matches as they climb to 11th.

A fifth loss in seven sees Rogle move back into third, while there is no catching Frolunda at the top, as Tobias Normann registered a 14-save shutout in a 3-0 win over Brynas, which grew the Gothenburg side's lead to 11 points, while Brynas sit ninth following a first loss in three.

Level on points with Brynas and holding onto the final Playoff place are Orebro, who also recorded a 3-0 win, beating lowly Leksand, who remain bottom of the pile after Jhonas Enroth kept out all 18 of their efforts on goal.

Linkoping overtook Lulea who fell to a 5-2 loss to Farjestad, and pulled further clear of the relegation zone thanks to in-form Malmo beating HV 71 4-1. An overtime win for Djurgarden in a 3-2 defeat of Timra ensured that Malmo remained in sixth and that Farjestad are now the best of the rest.
