Capitals 5-1 Blackhawks

It is now three straight goals for Ovechkin, who made Blackhawks goaltender Drew Commesso the official 187th goalie the Russian Machine has scored on in his career.

Teammate Justin Sourdif scored his ninth goal of the season ahead of Ovi's, making it 10 points in the last six games. for the 23-year-old playing in his first full season.

Washington improved to 23-16-6, while the Blackhawks fell to 18-19-7, ending their four-game win streak.

Jets 5-1 Kings

After sitting at the bottom of the league for a while, riding an 11-game losing streak, the Jets finally broke it with a win over the Kings.

Vladislav Namestnikov (7) and Cole Koepke (3) would put the Jets up 2-0 to finish out the first period. Teammate Jonathan Toews (4) would score within the first two minutes of the second period to put them up 3-0 before Quinton Byfield (7) would score the Kings' lone goal.

Mark Scheifele (22) would finish out the second with two goals as the Jets held on to their 5-1 lead throughout the third period.

Goaltender Eric Comrie would put up 23 saves on the night, making just his second game of the season allowing one goal or less as the Jets improved to 16-22-5.

Los Angeles fell to 18-15-10.

Mammoth 4-2 Blues

After it was starting to look like a Blues rally in the second period with a goal from Pavel Buchnevich (8) to cut the lead to 3-2, Nick Schmaltz (16) would score his second goal of the night to pull the Mammoth ahead to seal the win.

Schmaltz is now just four goals away from recording at least 20 in five straight seasons. His career high is set at 23, something he'll look to surpass with 36 games left in the regular season.

Utah improved to 22-20-3, while the Blues dropped to 17-20-8.
