NHL roundup: Flyers end Canucks’ four-game win streak

The Philadelphia Flyers ended the Vancouver Canucks’ four-game win streak during the NHL’s four-game slate on December 22nd.

Flyers 5-2 Canucks

Following a scoreless opening frame from both teams, Nikita Grebenkin (2)would get the Flyers on the board first.

His goal would carry over into the third period in what would kick start two more straight goals to make it 3-0 thanks to scores from Carl Grundstrom (4) and Christian Dvorak (8).

Vancouver's Max Sassoon (8) would get them on the board to cut the lead to 3-1, but Owen Tippett would score his 11th of the season to put the Flyers back up by three.

Matvei Michkov (9) would score an empty-netter before Drew O'Connor (8) would score a last second goal for the Canucks' last one and the final of the game.

The Flyers improved to 18-10-7, while the Canucks fell to 15-18-3.

Lightning 4-1 Blues

Despite only putting up 17 shots on goal, the Lightning capitalized on their few opportunities as they improved to 20-13-3. 

Pontus Holmberg (4) and Darren Raddysh (8) got the Lightning started in the first period with a pair of goals. 

St. Louis' Justin Faulk (10) would cut the lead to 2-1, but that would be all the Blues could muster up on the night as they fell to 14-16-8.

Anthony Cirelli (10) and Oliver Bjorkstrand (6) would score the final two goals for Tampa.
