The NRL issued Munro with a 'No-Fault Stand Down' notice on Tuesday, which forbids him from playing in any NRL-sanctioned competition whilst affirming his innocence until proven otherwise.
The 20-year-old South Sydney Rabbitohs winger scored seven tries in 12 NRL appearances this year and is due to face Burwood Local Court this Thursday.
Munro was investigated in mid-October after a woman reported to police that she had been assaulted by her partner at a Sydney address in April 2025.
Following the investigation, police charged Munro later that week with assault occasioning actual bodily harm (domestic), stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (domestic) and common assault (domestic).
The NRL said on Tuesday that "the decision (to stand Munro down indefinitely) should in no way be interpreted as a view on the innocence or guilt of the player", whilst the Rabbitohs have not commented since a statement in mid-October where they vowed to "take appropriate action if the allegations and charges are proven".
It's understood that Munro's ability to play will be reinstated should be he acquitted of the charges.
