The Ole Miss Rebels defeated the Tulane Green Wave 41-10 on Saturday during the first round of the College Football Playoffs after they scored on seven of their 12 offensive drives.

Ole Miss totaled 483 yards, 29 first downs, and forced three turnovers as they completely outclassed Tulane on all fronts in their first win after head coach Lane Kiffin left to take the head coach position with LSU.

They'll move on to face No. 3 seed Georgia in the CFP quarterfinals. Click here for the full bracket.

Georgia was Ole Miss' only loss of the season, when they gave up 17 points in the fourth quarter as Georgia came away with a 43-35 win.

And, for a little more Christmas cheer among the Rebels faithful, they broke the Guinness World Record for the largest get-together of people in Santa Claus hats (68,002).

Full game recap + highlights

First half

It took Ole Miss just three plays and 59 seconds to go 75 yards for the first touchdown of the game. In comparison, it took the entire Miami-Texas A&M game 58 minutes to see its first touchdown.

A 30-yard pass to De'Zhaun Stribling, a 25-yard pass to Dae'Quan Wright, and then a 20-yard touchdown run from Kewan Lacy on his first rush attempt of the game were all that was needed for the Rebels to get on the board first.

Ole Miss would get the ball back shortly after to kickstart their second drive after Tulane quarterback Jake Retzlaff threw a pick to Ole Miss cornerback Jaylon Braxton, ending what was already a 10-play drive.

And Ole Miss capitalized right after - going up 14-0 after QB Trinidad Chambliss rushed it in for the score, making it 21 rushing touchdowns on the year for him.

The Rebels officially started the game with five straight plays that went at least 20 yards each after Lacy had rushed for 30 yards on the first play of their second drive before Chambliss completed a 26-yard pass to Deuce Alexander, eventually leading to the score.

It would make it 14 points on seven plays in just over two minutes of possession time.

Before the end of the half, Ole Miss would cool down and Tulane would be able to put together some solid drives.

But both teams ended up with just a field goal each after Ole Miss' hot start, going into the half with a 17-3 score.

Tulane prevented Ole Miss from adding on any damage, forcing a strip sack before both teams went to the locker rooms.

Harvey Dyson III recorded the sack and forced fumble on Ole Miss backup QB Austin Simmons, breathing some life into a Tulane team that failed to score a touchdown despite putting up 206 yards in the first half - 58 less than Ole Miss.

After a rough first quarter, Tulane forced a punt, a field goal, and a fumble in their three defensive drives in the second.

Both Chambliss and Lacy for Ole Miss left with injuries in the first but came back in the second half where it was brutal for Tulane and their fans everywhere.

Second half

The second half was all Ole Miss. They scored on all of their drives, starting out with a Chambliss touchdown pass to Stribling for 13 yards to make it 24-3.

After forcing a turnover on downs during their following defensive drive, the Rebels would get on the board again with a 48-yard field goal from kicker Lucas Carneiro (27-3).

Ole Miss would force another turnover on downs following their touchdown as Tulane couldn't just muster up any sort of momentum.

The Rebels would go on to drive 52 yards down the field, which ended with a three-yard touchdown from running back Logan Diggs to make it 34-3.

And, just like clockwork the entire second half, Ole Miss forced a fumble before scoring yet another touchdown, this time on an eight-yard run from Chambliss to go up 41-3.

The touchdown would make it four straight Ole Miss drives that ended in a score, three of which were touchdowns.

With 4:00 left to go in the game, Tulane kept fighting until the final whistle as they scored their first touchdown of the game.

Jake Retzlaff would throw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Justyn Reid to make the score 41-10.

It would be Reid's lone reception of the game, while Retzlaff finished with 330 total yards (24 rushing), one touchdown, and one touchdown on 20-of-35 passing, along with two fumbles.

Tulane freshman running back Jamauri McClure would come up just a few yards short of Lacy's 87 for the most in the game. The Green Wave finished giving Ole Miss a run for their money in yardage, still putting up 421 total with 20 first downs.

Ole Miss' Chambliss finished with 318 total yards, three touchdowns (two rushing), and one interception on 23-of-29 passing.

Lacy led all backs with 87 yards on 15 carries with one touchdown.
