The Los Angeles Rams signed cornerback Trent McDuffie to a four-year, $124 million contract extension on Sunday, making him the highest-paid cornerback in NFL history.

The deal includes $100 million in guaranteed money and will pay him $31 million per year throughout the rest of the extension. McDuffie, 25, was recently acquired in a blockbuster trade with the Kansas City Chiefs (details here).

McDuffie is entering his fifth NFL season and is already a two-time All-Pro. The now five-year corner is coming off a season where he put up 63 tackles, seven pass deflections, two tackles for loss, one interception, and one forced fumble.

He finished the 2025 season as the 11th-highest graded cornerback (75.6) out of 114 qualified at the position. McDuffie set a career-low 5.9% missed tackle percentage, while allowing a 94.7 opposing passer rating - the second lowest of his career.

Opposing wide receivers average 9.3 yards per reception against McDuffie in 2025 (also a career-low) as he gave up just 37 receptions - fewer than both of his All-Pro seasons in 2023 and 2024.
