Olympique Marseille and coach Roberto De Zerbi could be mutually parting ways after losing 5-0 to PSG on Sunday night.

According to RMC, De Zerbi was already close to leaving the club. His assistants, Pancho Abardonado and Romain Ferrier, who coach the reserve team, could step in temporarily while a replacement is found.

Following the unexpected Champions League exit and the humiliating defeat against PSG at Parc des Princes, De Zerbi openly admitted he was baffled by his team's inconsistent performances.

Switching between a three-man and four-man defense, the coach has used 33 different lineups since the start of the season, driven by tactical choices and the frequent player changes that have prevented any sense of stability.

RMC also reports that RDZ no longer has the mental strength to finish the season. He arrived in 2024 for a minimum three-year project, but could leave after just 18 months. As a reminder, Pablo Longoria told the Daily Telegraph on January 26 that he wanted De Zerbi to become OM's Diego Simeone.

The club's owner, Frank McCourt, will decide the coach's immediate future, which already seems to be sealed.
