GK: James Delianov - Newcastle Jets (8.1)
Delianov makes back-to-back appearances in our Team of the Week after last round's 3-1 win over the Phoenix in which he saved seven out of eight shots.
This time he went five from five, including an impressive save in just the sixth minute of the match, to record not only the best rating of all goalkeepers this round but the best of the entire game between Newcastle and Sydney.
LB: Ryan Kitto - Adelaide United (7.4)
There weren't any immense standout performances from left-backs last week but our player ratings system gave the Reds' Kitto a 7.4 for a 90% pass accuracy (36/40), whilst he won six of his 11 duels (ground or aerial) and recorded five clearances as part of Adelaide's 1-0 win in Perth.
CB: Mark Natta - Newcastle Jets (7.8)
Natta picked up a 7.8 out of 10 despite being booked and that was because of 54 accurate passes in addition to winning six out of seven duels and two of three attempted tackles.
CB: Max Cooper - Newcastle Jets (7.8)
Natta's partner-in-defence edged him out by winning nine out of nine duels at the back as well as making six clearances and a game-high 55 accurate passes.
RB: Joel Bertolissio - Newcastle Jets (7.9)
Bertolissio pressed forward as a wing-back to register four touches in the opposition box and three shot attempts as well as winning five of his seven duels and clearing the ball four times.
LM: Carlo Armiento - Wellington Phoenix (7.7)
The Phoenix ran away with the game early in the second half thanks to a Manjrekar James penalty and this strike from Carlo Armiento, who passed with 84% accuracy including 87% in the final third.
CM: Louis Verstraete - Auckland FC (8.0)
Auckland's Verstraete won the club award for their Player of the Month at the end of November and is making regular appearances in this feature, boasting an average match rating of 7.3 - the seventh-highest in the competition with a minimum of four games played.
RM: Xavier Bertoncello - Newcastle Jets (8.0)
Bertoncello played only 12 minutes but it was enough to get an official Flashscore rating thanks to his 84th minute goal that sealed the Jets' memorable 2-0 win over the joint-title favourites Sydney.
LW: Corban Piper - Wellington Phoenix (7.8)
The versatile Piper has spent much of the season on the bench and has been a pretty ineffective player for the Phoenix this season but with two exceptions: his two assists against the Roar off the pine in October and his two direct involvements in their weekend victory.
He has played on both sides of the park this season, replacing Najjarine, Nagasawa and Ichige and even as a central defender against Auckland, but as a left forward against the Mariners we'll slot him into the left-wing role for our Team of the Week.
CF: Lachlan Brook - Auckland FC (7.7)
After a slow start to the season, Brook has found himself in an immensely rich vein of form in November and December, scoring or assisting in four of his last five matches, and it's no coincidence that Auckland are on a three-game winning streak because of his own rise.
The former Wanderer tormented his former employer with his third goal of the season and is well on the way to replicating the nine he scored in his breakout 2023/24 season at Western Sydney.
RW: Harrison Sawyer - Macarthur FC (9.9*)
Sawyer now has four goals in less than 220 minutes of competitive football since the November international break and is making an excellent case for replacing Luke Vickery, who has been excelling in the AFC Champions League 2 but struggling in the A-League, as the Bulls' starting right midfielder.
