Monday night saw a pair of 2-1 wins in local derbies for sides very much in the race for the European places in the Allsvenskan, as third-placed AIK found a late winner to beat Brommapojkarna, and IFK Goteborg moved into fourth by beating Hacken.

In Sunday's Stockholm derby, Djurgarden found a late leveller to draw with second-placed Hammarby, meaning if AIK could beat Brommapojkarna in the meeting of the other Stockholm County clubs, they would move to within three points of the Bajen.

That became a real possibility 10 minutes before the break, after Bersant Celina's corner was cleared back to him, he swung in a cross which was flicked into the back of the net by the head of Thomas Isherwood to put the Solna side in front.

Not long after conceding, the Bromma Boys threw on Ezekiel Alladoh, and that turned out to be an inspired move, as midway through the second half, he was on the end of Daleho Irandust's through pass and his strike was too powerful for Kristoffer Nordfeldt in the AIK goal.

BP looked to have done enough to salvage a point, only for their hearts to be broken in the 96th minute, as AIK did well to maintain possession on the left wing, from where Mads Thychosen curled a cross onto the head of Kevin Filling, who found the bottom corner.

AIK remain 13 points behind leaders Mjallby after the 2-1 win, but three wins in a row bolsters their hopes of reaching the UEFA Conference League for next summer. BP sit ninth, the best of four teams sitting on 26 points, despite three losses in their last four.

Two points shy of AIK and jumping from sixth to fourth are Goteborg, after they took all three points from their trip across Gothenburg to face Hacken, who finished the match with 10 men.

With 13 minutes on the clock, the visitors took the lead after Saidou Alioum chased hard down the right side and his cutback wasn't dealt with by the Hacken defence - instead the ball fell kindly for Tobias Heintz, who swept it home.

Five minutes before the break, the home side grabbed themselves an equaliser - Silas Andersen found Mikkel Rygaard on the edge of the box, and the veteran took his time to set himself and guide the ball into the bottom corner.

But as with Brommapojkarna, the underdogs could not hold on, and midway through the second half the Goteborg lead was restored by Heintz, who made a late run into the box to meet Max Fenger's square ball and drill a low shot past the goalkeeper.

Rygaard was in the spotlight again soon after, but instead of emulating Heintz by completing a brace, he was sent off for a rash challenge on Fenger that all but ended Hacken's comeback hopes. They sit 11th and like BP have 26 points and three defeats in their last four.
