It’s rare to find players from top clubs willing to speak openly about their future, often out of fear of backlash from their current teams, but Lennart Karl of Bayern Munich has done just that with a striking statement.

Karl has been a revelation for Bayern this season, with the 17-year-old establishing himself as one of the biggest young talents in football.

However, if he has his way, he might not be at the German club for too much longer.

"Bayern is a huge club. It’s a dream to play there. But at some point, I definitely want to go to Real Madrid. That’s my dream club, but let’s keep that between us," he said in comments picked up by Sky Sports during a visit to a fan club.

Vincent Kompany has made the youngster a first-team regular this season, and he has already scored three goals in 13 Bundesliga games, plus another three in four Champions League matches.

With his comments, he's certainly shown that he's a big, confident character off the pitch too, but only time will tell whether his dream eventually comes true or whether he comes to regret such a statement, with it sure to upset some at his current club.
