Harry Kane’s outlook at Bayern Munich could become an intriguing storyline next summer, as top clubs weigh up whether an opportunity could emerge for one of the game’s most prolific strikers.

The England captain left Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 to test himself in the Bundesliga - and the move has been a success.

Kane has shone in his new side, reinforcing his reputation as one of the finest centre forwards of his generation. Yet sources close to the player have long suggested that the end of the 2025/26 season could be a natural moment for him to start to consider what comes next.

Kane has kept tight-lipped in public about his long-term plans, but those around him say his motivation is simple. He is ambitious and wants to remain at the very top of the game.

At 32, he is still performing at an elite level, and suitors are already positioning themselves.

Bayern do not plan to lose him, yet the speculation about a move has begun - with Barcelona the first club believed to be watching developments closely.

With Robert Lewandowski’s time at Camp Nou winding down, Kane has emerged as a dream replacement - an heir to the Polish striker’s role as the focal point of Barca’s attack.

Sources in Spain believe the idea is more than just speculation, with Kane’s ability to guarantee goals making him an attractive option despite his age.

However, a Premier League return is also very much on the table for whenever he moves next. Kane’s extraordinary record in England - 213 top-flight goals before leaving Spurs - means unfinished business remains.

Chelsea retain admiration, after exploring his availability prior to his Bayern move, and Tottenham have never ruled out welcoming him back if he shows an openness to the idea.

Whether either London club can put themselves in a strong enough position to compete will depend heavily on how their current seasons unfold. Chelsea’s long-term project under Enzo Maresca and Spurs' new era with Thomas Frank will need to be scrutinised.

What seems certain is that by the summer of 2026, Kane will have some big offers to think about.

For now, Bayern are benefitting from his goals, but other clubs are already hoping he looks for a new challenge.
