Chelsea welcome Newcastle United to Stamford Bridge on Saturday on the back of a crushing 5-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
Rosenior will be looking for a response from his team as they aim to climb above Aston Villa and into the top four, which would secure Champions League football for next season.
Rosenior happy to see James stay
The English head coach was first asked about captain Reece James signing a new long-term deal on Friday morning and how delighted he is to lock him down.
“We've secured the best player in world football in his position," Rosenior said.
“When you meet Reece, you see him from afar, you see he can play many positions, and he's technically brilliant. What impresses me most is his humility and who he is as a person. For as long as I'm here, he'll be my leader.”
PSG clash not the priority
The Blues face Newcastle before their second leg against Newcastle, where they will attempt to claw back a result against the Ligue 1 champions.
Rosenior was asked whether their European tie takes priority and whether he saw the incident with Pedro Neto, who impatiently pushed a ball boy to the ground during the first leg.
“I don't prioritise any competition. I've seen teams come back from three goals down in the Champions League many times. We still have a good chance if we can score the first goal next week, after tomorrow's important game.
“I've seen the incident back. It doesn't look good. I understand Pedro's perspective, but there are ways to approach it. I was so impressed with him, and it was his idea; he wanted to apologise straight away. It's about learning from those mistakes to ensure they don't happen again.”
