PSG claimed just their second win in the revamped Champions League with the Parisians the proud frontrunners in France but fighting to survive in Europe's biggest tournament. Austria's Salzburg, however, served as cannon fodder for the French champions on Tuesday, losing 3-0 to their opponents at the Red Bull Arena.
Striker Goncalo Ramos scored his first goal of the season after being out for a long time with an ankle injury, but the two full-backs in Luis Enrique's team really gave PSG wings in Salzburg with Achraf Hakimi getting two assists while Nuno Mendes scored the second goal of the game.
German giants Bayern Munich were at their best against Shakhtar Donetsk as they recorded a third Champions League victory in a row in a campaign that has seen them win by as much as 9-2 against Dinamo Zagreb but suffer two defeats.
Playing on familiar turf at Schalke's Veltins Arena stadium - where Shakhtar play their European home matches because of the war in Ukraine - Bayern scored five times, and the star men were the phenomenal Jamal Musiala and the lethal Michael Olise.
The pair were directly involved in four of the five Bayern goals; Musiala set up one and made it 4-1 while Olise made the third and fifth for the six-time Champions League winners, earning the highest rating of the round as a result.
Like Bayern, Stuttgart also won 5-1, doing so at home against Swiss side Young Boys. Defender Josha Vagnoman gave an assist and scored a goal as did midfielder Enzo Millot, and both make the team of the round with an honourable mention for midfielder Fabian Rieder, who gave three assists.
Liverpool won for the sixth time and kept a clean sheet for the fifth time in a row. Goalkeeper Alisson returned after an injury and coach Arne Slot's team dealt with Girona 1-0. The Brazilian goalie earned a spot under the crossbar in the team of the round thanks to his strong showing.
As did Jude Bellingham, who helped Real Madrid to a much-needed 3-2 victory at home to Atalanta by accounting for the third Madrid goal.
Up front, there is room for veteran Antoine Griezmann, who helped Atletico Madrid past Slovan Bratislava with two goals.
Bukayo Saka was the big standout in Arsenal's 3-0 victory over Monaco. The Gunners' captain scored twice and spearheaded the third goal.
The central striker's spot is for Santiago Gimenez, who scored the fourth goal during Feyenoord's 4-2 win over Sparta Prague.
