Goalkeeper

Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid) - 8.2

Real Madrid's 5-0 win over Kairat may have been a largely quiet night for the Belgian goalkeeper, but Thibaut Courtois kept his concentration levels high to keep a clean sheet on matchday two of the Champions League.

Four saves, 23 completed passes and a chance created through a long ball proved the goalkeeper's importance for Los Blancos.

Defence

Robin Le Normand (Atletico Madrid) - 8.4

Le Normand is in a goalscoring mood. After scoring in the Madrid derby in LaLiga, he now celebrated in the Champions League with Atletico Madrid's second goal against Eintracht Frankfurt.

He was also practically insurmountable at the back, losing only one aerial duel out of six, to which he added seven clearances and one interception. A complete display from the Spanish international.

Dean Huijsen (Real Madrid) - 8.4

He's only 20, but he already looks like a veteran at the highest level. The game wasn't as demanding as it could have been, but Huijsen was at the top of his game. Of the 16 duels he contested, he only lost three, to which he added three interceptions and four clearances.

What's more, he's a player with quality off the ball. He made eight passes in the attacking third and didn't miss any of the four dribbles he attempted. A display that will have pleased Xabi Alonso.

Raphael Guerreiro (Bayern Munich) - 8.4

In yet another injury-hit start to the season, Raphael Guerreiro started for only the second time at Bayern and rewarded Vincent Kompany's trust. In a fine combination with Nicolas Jackson, the centre-back finished off the Bavarians' second goal against Pafos.

He also created two chances and made two more interceptions in a game in which he clearly stood out on the offensive side.

Midfielders

Michael Olise (Bayern Munich) - 9.3

If Harry Kane was Bayern's figurehead, Olise wasn't far behind. The Frenchman continues his great form for the German champions.

He provided two assists and rounded off the scoring in Cyprus with Bayern's fifth goal. Another complete display from one of the main creative forces for Kompany.

Mario Pasalic (Atalanta) - 8.4

Atalanta picked up their first win in the Champions League and the hero turned out to be Mario Pasalic. Timely, the midfielder popped up at the far post and secured the comeback against Club Brugge.

In support of Lookman and Krstovic, Pasalic was the Italians' offensive dynamo. Three shots, all inside the opposing penalty area, and only two failed passes in the final third help explain the Croatian's influence.

Kevin De Bruyne (Napoli) - 8.8

At Diego Armando Maradona, Kevin De Bruyne produced a display that would have made the Argentinian legend proud. The Belgian has already proved that he didn't go to the south of Italy for a holiday and ended up being absolutely decisive in Napoli's first Champions League win, in a game in which Sporting gave the Italian champions a hard time.

A run in the first half and a cross in the second half led to two assists for Rasmus Hojlund. The Dane took home UEFA's man of the match award, but he can thank the Belgian for his decisive contribution.

Jens Petter Hauge (Bodo/Glimt) - 9.2

Bodo/Glimt were left with a bitter taste in their first Champions League match played in the Arctic Circle. The Norwegian champions were 2-0 up against Tottenham, but let the three points slip away in the closing stages.

The dream of a first win in the Champions League was built up by Jens Petter Hauge. After unsuccessful spells with AC Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt, the winger returned home and showed it was the right decision with a brace against the English giants. Incidentally, in the four European games played by Bodo this season, Hauge only failed to influence the result against Slavia (0-0). He made three assists in the tie with Sturm Graz and has now scored a brace.

Forwards

Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid) - 9.3

Mbappe has started this Champions League campaign in style. After his brace against Marseille, the French forward upped the ante and scored a hat-trick against Kairat Almaty, deciding the match in Kazakhstan.

He could have gone on to score even more goals too, as he wasted two great chances in the 12 touches he had in the opponent's penalty area. It was a real nightmare for the Kairat men.

Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) - 10

On Friday, Kane broke Cristiano Ronaldo and Erling Haaland's record by reaching 100 goals for Bayern in just 104 games. A few days later, he showed that he doesn't want to stop there and added three more to his tally with the Bavarians.

He scored with all three of his shots and also created two great chances. It's safe to say that it was a perfect night for the English captain, who is already in a fight with Mbappe for the title of top scorer in this edition of the Champions League.

Igor Paixao (Marseille) - 9.3

After losing by the narrowest of margins at the Santiago Bernabeu, Marseille hosted Ajax and showed that there are plenty of reasons to smile in the south of France. A 4-0 thrashing followed, with Igor Paixao in the spotlight.

The Brazilian, who arrived from Feyenoord, scored the first two goals for the Marseillais and also assisted Aubameyang's goal, which rounded off the scoring. To put it in perspective, he's already equalled his goalscoring record from last season's Champions League.
