Manchester United will play two pre-season friendlies in Sweden and one in Finland this summer, it has been announced.

The Red Devils will come to Sweden to face two sides who stand a good chance of reaching the semi-finals of this season's UEFA Champions League, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid.

Man United will face the Spanish side Solna's Strawberry Arena on 1st August, and a week later they go to Gothenburg's Gamla Ullevi to play the current European champions on 8th August.

But before those trips, United will go to the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki on 18th July for a match against EFL Championship side Wrexham, the Welsh club owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac, whose rise from the fifth tier of the English league system has been documented in Netflix's "Welcome to Wrexham".

"This has been in the works for a while, it's nice to finally see this project through to completion," said Joel Harkimo, who was in charge of organising the match in Helsinki.

It remains to be seen if Wrexham will still be a Championship team come the meeting in Finland, given that they could still reach the playoffs and, by extension, the Premier League this season.

Also, it is unknown who will be in the Man Utd dugout come the pre-season matches, given that Michael Carrick is still in interim charge of the club.

United have also announced friendlies with Leeds United in Dublin, Ireland and with Rosenborg in Trondheim, Norway.
