Lausanne were held to a drab 0-0 draw by KuPS in the UEFA Conference League (UECL) at the Tammelan Stadion, leaving Les Bleu et Blanc without a win in any of their last three UECL matches (D2, L1).

KuPS have made a phenomenal start to this season's league phase, losing just one of their opening four UECL matches (W1, D2), with the loss coming in their last outing in this tournament in a narrow 1-0 defeat to Jagiellonia.

The Finnish side took control of the game early on, dominating possession and trying to carve open Lausanne, however, there was little quality on show in the attacking thor from either side.

The visitors had a good opportunity to take the lead after 24 minutes, when the ball found its way to Beyatt Lekoueiry on the edge of the penalty area, but he was unable to find the target with his low drilled effort from the edge of the penalty area going just wide of the left post.

Despite both sides managing to get a decent amount of shots off in the opening stages, it took 41 minutes to get the first shot on target, but Nathan Butler-Oyedeji’s effort was saved fairly comfortably by Johannes Kreidl in the bottom right corner.

Yet, it took just three minutes of the second half for Lausanne to craft the best opportunity of the game, when Gabriel Sigua picked out Thelonius Bair with a cross, but the Canadian forward wasn’t able to keep his header down and sent his effort over the bar.

Kreidl was called into action again after 65 minutes, as he denied Butler-Oyedeji for a second time with another smart save, pushing the Englishman’s shot from the edge of the box away from the bottom left corner.

Lausanne looked the more likely side to find an opener as the game went on, having a multitude of shots on goal but ultimately struggling to test Kreidl.

Piotr Parzyszek had a great chance to steal all three points for the hosts with just four minutes remaining, but the striker’s effort was saved brilliantly by Karlo Letica to deny the Polish forward.

With the game ending in a stalemate Lausanne dropped to 16th in the UECL table, whilst KuPS missed the opportunity to climb into the Playoff positions, and will head into their final match of the league having to get a result against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park if they have any hope of advancing to the next round.
