The Netherlands is one of the biggest football nations in the world, producing players such as Johan Cruyff, Marco van Basten, and Ruud Gullit. Besides players, Dutch clubs have won several European trophies, but it all starts in the Eredivisie, the country's top tier. Flashscore takes you through all the champions of the Dutch Eredivisie.

Since 1956, Dutch football has crowned a champion of the Dutch Eredivisie. The competition was set up to professionalise football, which had been played at an amateur level before 1954, though a national champion was crowned each year.

Ajax, PSV, and Feyenoord, known as the 'Big Three' or 'Traditional Top Three' in the Netherlands, have earned their status as Dutch giants from dominating the domestic league since its inception - 63 of the 69 Eredivisie titles have been won by the Big Three, of whom Ajax lead with 28, while winning 36 total Dutch championships.

The only clubs that have broken the hegemony of the three giants were AZ (2x), FC Twente, Sparta Rotterdam, DWS (now active in the eighth tier of Dutch football), and DOS (ceased to exist in 2004).

Each club's kit is given a star above the badge to signify 10 Eredivisie titles. The Hague club HVV were the most successful club before 1956, winning 10 league titles between 1891 and 1914, making them the only club outside of Ajax, PSV, and Feyenoord to wear a star.

With PSV laying claim to their 27th Eredivisie title in club history in the 2025/26 season, Flashscore will take you through the entire list of Eredivisie champions since the 1956/57 season.
