Eredivisie outfit FC Twente have announced the signing of former World Cup finalist Marko Pjaca on a free agent deal.

The former Juventus and Dinamo Zagreb winger joins FC Twente on a two-year deal.

"I'm happy to be here now, it feels good to be at FC Twente," Pjaca said on the club website.

"I hope to join the group as soon as possible, meet the players and help the club. FC Twente are a club with a good tradition. Everyone I spoke to about FC Twente told me how great the supporters are and the atmosphere in the stadium. I am looking forward to experiencing that."

Pjaca, 30, broke through at Dinamo Zagreb in 2016 and earned a €23-million move to Italian giants Juventus after impressing at Euro 2016. His big Italian adventure did not pan out, however, as the Croatian winger struggled with injury issues in Turin.

The 28-time Croatian international, who played in the 2018 FIFA World Cup final against France, spent periods on loan in Germany, Italy, and Belgium before returning to Croatia in 2023.

"It was important for me to make a good choice at this stage of my career. I wanted to continue playing in Europe in a good league at a high level," Pjaca concluded in a club statement.
