Jeremiah St. Juste, 29, left Feyenoord in 2019 after making 50 appearances for the Rotterdam club in two years. The rapid defender joined FSV Mainz, who he played 69 games for before joining Portuguese giants Sporting Portugal.
The 29-year-old started as a mainstay in defence, but was often injured and missed significant since joining the club in 2022.
Now, St. Juste has returned to Feyenoord on a free transfer after not playing a single minute for Sporting all season. St. Juste joins manager Robin van Persie, with whom he played 26 games in the latter's second period at Feyenoord.
"It's great to be back, it feels good and makes me proud," St. Juste said on the club website.
"Now that I'm back here, you can see that the club has been anything but idle, and the same goes for me. With everything I've been through and the experience I've gained, more can be expected of me. This is a fantastic opportunity to prove myself again and help the club, the team and the supporters get out of this situation. I am looking forward to being on the pitch, to experiencing the feeling that De Kuip gives again."
Injury struggles
St. Juste joins Feyenoord in a tough period, with the club having lost eight of their last 12 games across all competitions. Van Persie's team are struggling with injury issues, especially in defence, where Thomas Beelen and Gernot Trauner have been injured for the whole season and Givairo Read is ruled out until March.
Jeremiah St. Juste has signed a contract until 2027 with Feyenoord, with whom he won one KNVB Beker and one Johan Cruyff Shield between 2017 and 2019.
