Carlo Ancelotti (65) has reportedly decided not to continue his adventure at Real Madrid beyond the 2024-2025 season.

Sometimes jostled by observers in recent years, and perhaps even more so in recent weeks, because of a style of play that leaves something to be desired, Ancelotti has nonetheless been responsible for some fine successes with Real Madrid.

Returning in 2021 after a first stint crowned with a Champions League title (2014), the Italian has managed to win two more since then (2022 and 2024).

With Madrid, he has also won two LaLiga titles a Copa del Rey and a Club World Cup crown.

But on Monday, according to Spanish radio station Onda Cero, Ancelotti has decided not to continue his adventure with the Madridistas at the end of the 2024-2025 season. However, his current contract runs until June 2026 leaving questions open about who will replace him.

Xabi Alonso, the current Bayer Leverkusen coach, is the hot favourite to replace Ancelotti having played at the Bernabeu and done a fantastic job with the German side.
