Real Madrid came from behind to beat Mallorca 2-1 in LaLiga despite having three goals ruled out, recording their 10th consecutive home win against Los Piratas in the process.

Los Blancos largely controlled the early stages, as would be expected, and appeared to have opened the scoring just six minutes into proceedings. Kylian Mbappe latched onto Trent Alexander-Arnold’s exquisite pass and finished calmly, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Disappointment in the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu turned to shock in the 18th minute, as Vedat Muriqi rose above the meek men in white surrounding him to turn Pablo Torre’s corner past Thibaut Courtois.

Speculative attempts from Vinicius Junior and Franco Mastantuono followed with little consequence, while Leo Roman made a mess of saving another from Aurelien Tchouameni but went unpunished.

The hosts eventually drew level in the 37th minute through a brilliantly worked short corner, which culminated in Dean Huijsen heading Alvaro Carreras’ ball back across goal for Arda Guler to nod home.

Real Madrid were ahead mere moments later, as Vinicius Junior jinked his way into the box and found the bottom corner.

Mbappe thought he had got in on the act before the break, but another cool finish was ruled out for offside.

Madrid had yet another goal ruled out, as after Mastantuono’s initial shot was saved, Martin Valjent’s attempted clearance smashed against Arda Guler’s arm before hitting Roman and being turned in by the Turkey international.

Alexander-Arnold and Carreras ensured Los Blancos stayed ahead despite that moment leaving Guler in disbelief, making superb interventions near their own goalline to deny Muriqi and Samu Costa respectively.

Brahim Diaz then saw a venomous strike saved, before Huijsen headed wide from a dinked Mbappe cross.

While that meant a third goal continued to evade Madrid, it mattered little as they still extended their perfect start in La Liga to its third game.

Mallorca are left on one point from their three matches, although their defeats coming against Real Madrid and Barcelona should make that less concerning.
