It was only a matter of time. On Tuesday, Orlando City confirmed the official signing of Antoine Griezmann.
As has been mentioned several times since February, the French striker will complete his season with Atletico Madrid before making the move to the United States.
He has signed a two-year contract, with an option for the 2028/29 season.
"The forward travelled to Orlando, with the club's permission, during the two days of rest granted to the first team, to finalise his contract with the Florida side," Atletico said in a statement.
"He is one of the most gifted, accomplished and influential players of his generation, and his decision to choose Orlando City reflects the mission and culture of our club," said Orlando City owner Mark Wilf on Griezmann.
"Our focus is on consistently building a championship-calibre roster every year, and adding a world-class player like Antoine reinforces that commitment and our belief in what the club can achieve."
This season at Atletico, he still has the chance to win both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

Griezmann joined Atletico from Real Sociedad in July 2014. Since then, he has become the club’s all-time top scorer with 211 goals, surpassing Luis Aragones, who scored 173.
With 488 appearances in the red and white shirt over 10 seasons, he is also the fourth most-capped player in the history of the Colchoneros.
