Both AGF and FC Copenhagen booked their ticket for the next round of the Danish Cup tournament on a Wednesday evening, in which spectators were also treated to a couple of penalty decisions in other matches after extra-time as Esbjerg, Viborg, and Vejle sealed their spots in the 1/8-finals.

Following their string of poor performances, FC Copenhagen restored a bit of morale on Wednesday evening in the Danish Cup tournament when they ran away with a 4-1 win away against Hobro.

German super talent Youssoufa Moukoko, who has had difficulties settling into Jacob Neestrup's team after arriving from Borussia Dortmund, was the big hero of the day as he finally proved his goal instinct, scoring a hat trick on the day to help the visitors qualify for the 1/8 final of the tournament.

Moukoko scored his first goal of the evening after 13 minutes when he capitalized on a sudden chance when the ball fell at his feet at the edge of the box.

Moukoko then added to his tally when he scored twice within the space of eleven minutes from the 48th to the 59th minute as Viktor Dadason and Mads Emil Madsen turned provider for him. Soren Andreasen managed to reduce the deficit in the final minute for the visitors before Dadason got on the scoreboard for FC Copenhagen with just seconds remaining.

AGF went into the game against Sonderjyske as hot favourites, and they got exactly the start they had hoped for, when Norwegian international playmaker Kristian Arnstad gave them the lead after just two minutes with a superb stringing drive from outside the box.

However, unsung Sonderjyske didn't allow themselves to get frustrated by the early deficit and dug themselves well into the match even though the home side certainly also had chances to double the score through Henrik Dalsgaard og Rasmus Carstensen.

With about an hour left of the game, the visitors very surprisingly managed to restore parity when Magnus Jensen rose high to head home a corner almost on the goal line.

However, eight minutes later, Sonderjyske were reduced to ten men when Maxime Soulas pulled down Patrick Mortensen to receive his second yellow card of the evening.

The home side followingly launched a virtual siege on the Sonderjyske goal, and AGF were finally rewarded for their dominance three minutes from the end when keeper Nicolai Flo could only push an attempt from a corner on to the crossbar, only for Mortensen to push the ball over the line.

In the other matches of the 1/16-finals, two ties had to be decided on penalties after extra time. Viborg were eight minutes from crashing out of the tournament when they were behind 2-1 with eight minutes to go in Fredericia. But Charly Nouck managed to equalize, and during the penalty drama Viborg had the necessary coolness to book their ticket for the next round.

Also, Esbjerg's game against Randers had to be decided on penalties after none of the teams could break the deadlock during 120 minutes of play, and Oliver Olsen's miss from the 11 metre spot proved fatal for Randers as Esbjerg sealed their next round ticket.

Finally Vejle BK cruised past IF Lyseng with a 4-0 away win.
