It's a huge weekend on both sides of the Atlantic, with some blockbuster clashes taking place in the world of football in Europe and the Toronto Blue Jays looking to finally win the MLB World Series again in the US.

Here's what our editors will be watching this weekend!

Super Lig action - from 18:00 CET on Saturday

A meteoric weekend of Turkish Super Lig action is on the horizon, as table-toppers Galatasaray take on second-place Trabzonspor on Saturday, before an Istanbul derby between Besiktas and Fenerbahce on Sunday.

Three-time defending champions Galatasaray have been close to flawless in the league this season, winning nine and drawing one of their 10 games. With a star-studded lineup including names like Victor Osimhen and Leroy Sane, it is hard to see how anyone can stop them from winning another title.

However, Trabzon pose a real test for them. On a four-game winning streak, they have been in impressive form. With Super Lig top scorer Paul Onuachu (Seven goals) in their ranks, they will be desperate to upset the odds and trim the gap down to two points at the summit.

The following day, a really inconsistent Besiktas team are set to host Fenerbahce in a fiery fixture. Neither team have been particularly impressive this campaign, but under manager Sergen Yalcin, things have slightly improved for the hosts.

They sit in fourth place, five points behind Fenerbahce in third and already 11 points off the top. For Fener, they know they cannot afford to let Galatasaray pull even further clear, so dropped points are not an option.

New manager Domenico Tedesco has got them back on track after the firing of Jose Mourinho, with five wins and a draw in their last 16.

It is a true blockbuster weekend in Turkey, and after all the off-the-field noise surrounding the betting scandal and referees, hopefully the focus can turn straight back to the football.

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (Game 6 of World Series) - 01:00 CET

The Toronto Blue Jays now have the chance to win the World Series for the first time since 1993 in front of their home crowd.

After the historic 18-inning Game 3 loss, the Jays now have a 3-2 series lead after winning back-to-back games against the Dodgers, putting up six runs in each and holding LA's bats to three.

As Shohei Ohtani continued to make history at the start of the series, last night was all about Blue Jays rookie starting pitcher Trey Yesavage, who broke the World Series record for a rookie pitcher with 12 strikeouts.

Toronto have outscored Los Angeles 29-18 this series. So if the Dodgers want to force a Game 7, they need more than solo home runs and singles to beat out a stacked Blue Jays lineup at the plate.

Rugby Autumn internationals - from 16:10 CET

For rugby fans, outside of the World Cup, every Autumn brings the intrigue and spectacle of the world’s top nations battling it out to show their supremacy. Teams from the southern hemisphere travel to the north in a test of how their side is shaping up.

The Autumn internationals still have the novelty of decades past despite the world getting smaller, and there are two tussles this weekend that stand out.

At Twickenham, England face the old enemy Australia in what is always a juicy encounter. The pair squared off last year in a barn-burner as the Wallabies came out 42-37 victors.

England, though, are in good form, having won their last seven games. If that isn’t enough for you, Ireland and New Zealand do battle in Chicago from 21:10 CET - a fixture that has provided plenty of spice in recent times.

Tottenham vs Chelsea - 18:30 CET

Third-placed Tottenham host London rivals Chelsea on Saturday evening in what promises to be a thrilling Premier League encounter under the lights.

Thomas Frank’s men go into the contest three points ahead of the Blues, as they look to register back-to-back league wins for the first time since August.

Spurs are the joint-highest scoring side in the league - alongside Manchester City and Chelsea - so the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons and Brennan Johnson will all be keen to leave their mark on Saturday’s clash.

As for Enzo Maresca’s men, Chelsea have won five of their last six matches across all competitions, although their last outing in the Premier League was a shock 2-1 home defeat against Sunderland

The Blues will be desperate to bounce back from that loss, and with an impressive record of eight victories from the last 10 competitive H2Hs dating back to 2021/22, they’ll fancy their chances of doing so!

AC Milan vs Roma - 20:45 CET

This season's Serie A title fight is shaping up to be one of the most open in years, and two hopefuls will be facing off in Milan on Sunday.

Roma are very much in the mix thanks to an excellent start to life under new manager Gian Piero Gasperini. The club from the capital are currently joint-top of the league with Napoli after winning seven and drawing two of their opening nine matches.

Things aren't going too badly for AC Milan under their new boss either though, with Max Allegri's side just three points adrift in fourth. While two of their three draws were in matches they were expected to win, they've only been beaten in league action once since their manager returned to the club.

Roma have had more joy in these meetings in recent times, losing just one of the last six between the two. However, the Rossoneri prevailed the last time the two faced off at the San Siro, winning 3-1 in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals earlier this year.

If the prospect of two of Italy's biggest and best sides doing battle isn't enough for you, you also get to watch Luka Modric play football, and he's shown in his first few months in Italy that, even now he's 40, that's still one of the best sights in the game.
