Best Midfielder: Mohamed Salah vs Burnley (A) - 8.1 predicted points

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah once again tops the AI rankings as the best captain pick, with his side travelling to promoted Burnley. The Reds have begun their title defence in fine form, being the only side to win each of their opening three games.

Salah has chalked up two goal involvements in this time - one goal and one assist - but failed to make a mark in the 1-0 win against Arsenal. He has had four shots on goal this campaign, plus made four key passes for his teammates, including three big chances created.

Liverpool have scored a leading eight goals in this campaign, while their opponents, Burnley, have conceded six goals in three games. Salah has only scored one Premier League goal against Burnley from 10 appearances against them, never scoring at Turf Moor.

Midfield Gem: Noni Madueke vs Nottingham Forest (H) - 5.0 predicted points

An unlikely hero for the AI predictions is Arsenal’s Noni Madueke, who has claimed the right wing role in the Gunners front three in the absence of injured Bukayo Saka, and is a big differential in just 1.1% of sides.

Madueke has started two of Arsenal’s three league games so far this season, but is still waiting for his first offensive return. He managed seven goals and five assists last season at Chelsea, with three shots in the box and three chances created this campaign.

Arsenal have had a sound start to the season despite some tricky opening fixtures, with two wins, six goals scored, and just one conceded. They should have the edge against a Nottingham Forest side set to play under Ange Postecoglou for the first time.

Best Forward: Erling Haaland vs Manchester United (H) - 7.2 predicted points

Erling Haaland has had another impressive start to the season, scoring three goals across the opening three gameweeks to be one of the top-performing forwards. Many managers have earmarked Gameweek 6 at home to Burnley to be the best time to buy.

However, Haaland carries plenty of potential in the meantime, living up to his billing as the best forward in Gameweek 3 away at Brighton, where he scooped up all three bonus points for a nine-point return, despite that game ending in a second consecutive defeat.

He leads the way for shots (14), big chances (6) and xG (3.88) over the opening three gameweeks and now plays one of his favourite opponents in Manchester United. He has six goals and three assists in five Premier League performances against them.

Forward Gem: Jean-Philippe Mateta vs Sunderland (H) - 6.7 predicted points

Crystal Palace’s Jean-Philippe Mateta retains his place as the best forward gem, following his five-pointer last time out with a goal from the penalty spot in the 3-0 win at Villa Park. The Eagles' asset is rising in stock after that emphatic win, with his first return of the campaign.

Mateta keeps his differential status, in 9.5% of sides, but his popularity is rising rapidly, with over 200,000 managers transferring him in ahead of the visit of Sunderland, who have conceded three goals in their opening three games.

With the departure of Eberechi Eze in the summer transfer window, Mateta is now on penalties. He’s already had six shots on goal this season, hitting double figures for goals in each of his last two seasons at Crystal Palace.
