Mathys Tel is beginning to wonder whether he could reboot his Spurs career by outlasting boss Thomas Frank.

The 20-year-old has grown frustrated with his role at Tottenham this season and hit another low when he was left out of the Champions League squad to face Borussia Dortmund.

His struggles have led him to consider an exit and, amid interest from Paris FC, he has even recently requested a move.

Spurs blocked the idea, with current briefings from the club insisting he will remain beyond the transfer deadline.

That stance has frustrated the player, who has struggled to find consistency this season as he has moved in and out of the line-up.

So Tel is now exploring his options - including whether he should, in fact, stay if his current boss is nearing the end of his tenure.

Multiple sources around the club had expected Frank to lose his job after the Dortmund game, but the 2-0 win may have bought him some extra time.

There is now some expectation that Frank will remain in charge on a game-by-game basis, although it is still widely assumed he will lose his job in the near future.

That gives Tel the motivation of holding on, in hope his career at the club can get a new lease of life under a different head coach.

Meanwhile, Spurs sources continue to insist there will be further incoming business, despite the uncertainty surrounding the managerial situation.

The club has been looking at an attacker and admire Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche, Manchester City’s Oscar Bobb and Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge, while they have also been linked with West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville.

Additionally, Tottenham have already made unsuccessful attempts to sign Man City’s Savinho, RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande, and Antoine Semenyo, before he completed a move from Bournemouth to City.
