Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that goalkeeper Alisson will miss the upcoming Premier League clash with Chelsea following his injury in the 1-0 Champions League defeat to Galatasaray on Tuesday.
The 32-year-old was replaced by new signing Giorgi Mamardashvili in the 56th minute after picking up what appeared to be a knee injury.
Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to the Turkish side marks their second consecutive defeat across all competitions, having lost to Crystal Palace in the Premier League last weekend.
Speaking to the press after the game, Slot confirmed that the veteran goalkeeper will miss the crucial clash with Chelsea on Saturday.
"It's never positive if you go off like this," Liverpool boss Slot said. "You can be sure he is not playing Saturday."
