Serie A outfit Torino has officially terminated the contract of Dutch defender Perr Schuurs, with the Dutch defender ending his time with the club six months ahead of schedule.

The 26-year-old Schuurs joined Torino from Ajax in 2022, but was soon plagued by constant injury issues. The centre-half tore his ACL in October 2023 against Inter and has not played a minute for the club since.

Schuurs' contract has now been terminated, allowing him to continue his rehabilitation process in the Netherlands.

"President Urbano Cairo and everyone at Torino Football Club wish Perr all the best for his future and send him a warm embrace," reads the club’s statement.

"Even though our paths part ways today, we know our bond remains strong: Turin is your home, and you will always be one of us. His story is a perfect example of professionalism, commitment, and dedication to the cause. Thank you for everything, Perr, and we hope to meet again soon."

Perr Schuurs has reacted emotionally to his exit from the club, which he says will "always be home."

"My injury changed everything. It was and still is a difficult period, but I never gave up. Every day I fought to get back on the pitch with only one goal: to become a stronger player. This is not a farewell; we will see each other again. Torino will always be my place, and I will continue to fight for my comeback."

In total, Schuurs played 43 games for Torino, scoring two goals along the way.

Chances are you’re about to lose.
