All three title-chasing teams were given real tests on the weekend, but Trabzonspor, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce managed to pick up three points on their return from the international break.

Trabzonspor were involved in one of the games of the Super Lig season so far, as they needed a goal in the 101st minute of the game to clinch an incredible 4-3 victory over 10-man Istanbul Basaksehir.

Nuri Sahin's outfit played basically the whole contest with a man down after a red card in the 10th minute, yet went up twice in the game and were minutes away from claiming an impressive draw.

However, the hero was super sub Ernest Muci, who bagged a brace off the bench to win the match for Trabzon, including a stunning added-time strike.

Signed from Besiktas in the summer, the Albanian possesses clear talent, but has yet to really click in Turkey. Now in his third season in the country, he is still looking to make a mark and cement himself in the team.

Perhaps this might be liftoff for the 24-year-old.

Trabzon's Paul Onuachu and Basaksehir's Eldor Shomurodov were also on the scoresheet, both netting their ninth goals of the campaign. They lead the way at the top of the Super Lig goalscoring standings.

It was a vital win for Trabzonspor, meanwhile, as they continue to be a really competitive and much-improved side under Fatih Tekke.

They remain on the heels of Galatasaray and Fenerbahce at the summit, and although it is unlikely that they will go on to win the title, being in the mix heading into December is a real positive for them.

Galatasaray and Fenerbahce get ready for derby

With the biggest game in Turkish football, Fenerbahce vs Galatasaray, taking place next Monday, both teams looked to jostle for position ahead of the monumental clash.

On Saturday, a Galatasaray team going through an injury crisis, were at home to Genclerbirligi. Victor Osimhen missed the game with a niggle, and early into the contest, both Wilfried Singo and Mario Lemina came off to add to Galatasaray's woes.

Despite going 1-0 down, the introduction of the returning Ilkay Gundogan in the second half swung the momentum, as Mauro Icardi, Baris Alper Yilmaz and the German himself netted to put them 3-1 up, before a late consolation from Genclerbirligi saw it end 3-2.

Both teams had a player sent off, with Roland Sallai now set to be another big blow for the three-time defending champions.

They will be desperately hoping that Osimhen will be back for next Monday's clash.

Meanwhile, Fenerbache picked up three points the following day, having to come back from a 2-0 first-half deficit against Rizespor to win 5-2.

Marco Asensio was the star of the show, scoring two goals and an assist, and continuing his brilliant start to life in Turkey. He has instantly become their midfield maestro.

Fenerbahce remain the only unbeaten side in Turkey, but sit in second, a point behind Galatasaray at the top of the Super Lig.

It sets things up perfectly for next week, where a win for Fenerbahce would see them move into first.

However, they will have to reverse a poor set of results against their rivals. Fener have just one win in their last eight games against them, with Galatasaray winning three of their last four at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
