Vejle BK have just published the news that the 37-year old Croatian Ivan Prelec returns to the club to assume the responsibility as head coach. Prelec has signed a two-year deal.

Vejle states that sports director Mikkel Hemmersam has chosen Prelec after a thorough recruitment process, which also involved discussions with other candidates for the position.

The 37-year-old Croatian has been granted a two-year contract with Vejle. Ivan Prelec starts his new reign on 16 June.

Prelec chose himself to step down as head coach back in September after Vejle had a dreadful start to the season. At the time, Vejle had no points to show after nine rounds.

Instead Mihai Teja was brought in to steady the ship, but he was sacked in February and replaced by Steffen Kielstrup and Johnny Molby

The coaching duo then miraculously succeed in saving Vejle from relegation on the second but last round of the season.

Prelec was head coach for two and a half years, during which period Vejle Boldklub were promoted from the NordicBet Liga and then secured another season in the Superliga.
