Christian Eriksen says he wants to return to Denmark with his family when he decides to bring down the curtain on his impressive career.

Despite spending almost 20 years abroad, where he has played for some of Europe's biggest clubs, Christian Eriksen has maintained a strong bond with Denmark.

The 33-year-old Danish national team player, who this summer signed a contract with Wolfsburg until 2027, is currently residing in Germany with his family, but the future after his football career lies in Denmark.

Eriksen states this in an interview with Wolfsburger Allgemeine.

"Denmark is our home, says Eriksen, who also says that he can be allowed to be in peace when he is in his mother country."

"Denmark is relaxed. They love football but respect privacy", says Eriksen, who left Odense as a 16-year-old when he signed for Ajax.
