Bo Svensson will as expected replace Jacob Neestrup as new coach of FC Copenhagen.

The Danish coach Bo Svensson joins FC Copenhagen on a multi-year contract after almost 10 years as a coach in German and Austrian football.

After his active playing career, 46-year-old Bo Svensson made his mark as head coach of Austrian outfit FC Liefering and Bundesliga clubs Mainz 05 and Union Berlin, where he was widely recognized for his impact on the squad and the game.

“We are very happy to welcome Bo Svensson home to Copenhagen,” says Chairman of the Board of Parken Sport & Entertainment, Henrik Mogelmose.

“He knows what it means to play with the lion on his chest and represent FC Copenhagen, and he is a strong, international coach. He has been in high demand, so we are very happy that we succeeded in signing him."

"Bo Svensson represents exactly the combination of ambition, experience, and commitment that FC Copenhagen needs – both in the short and long term. Right now we are fully focused on securing 7th place and the cup title, so we have the best possible starting point for next season," says Henrik Mogelmose.
