The businessman Andrew Zolotko from Moldova has owned the club since 2016, but now local investors have taken over the ownership of the club.
Klaus Eskildsen has owned 40 percent of the club under Zolotko, and he will still have a significant portion of the shares under the new ownership.
The club mentions on its website that the other owners are Claus Bagger-Sørensen, Steen Bagger-Sørensen, Preben Holst Nielsen, Henrik Aarup Svendsen, Magnus Althof Aarup Svendsen, Gustav Althof Aarup Svendsen, Allan Linck, Jesper Andresen, Bjarne Pedersen and Tage Pedersen. The new owners , however, want to remain in the background.
"Vejle Boldklub means a lot to many people. Therefore, a Danish and local ownership is also the right way to go for the club now. It has been important to me that we have created a model that makes talented people want to come together to create a new sporting development in VB", says Eskildsen in a press release.
The change in ownership is not a big surprise. There have been several rumors of an imminent sale, and recently the rumors have increased.
Not least after the Romanian sporting director Marius Adrian Nicolae was fired at the end of January with three days left of the transfer window, and compatriot and head coach Mihai Teja on Sunday was sacked a week before the restart of the season.
A permanent replacement for Teja has not yet been appointed, but Steffen Kielstrup and Johnny Mølby have taken over responsibility on a temporary basis.
They face an extremely difficult task in the Superliga, where Vejle is in last place after 17 games, ten points adrift from Sønderjyske.
