Vejle for the first time since the start of the Superliga climbed above the relegation zone, when they booked a 2-0 win at home against Lyngby with just two matches remaining in the Superliga.

Vejle, who lost the first ten games of the season, climbed above the relegation zone on Monday evening Vejle through a 2-0 win against Lyngby who are now locked in the relegation zone with AaB.

Before the last two rounds of the relegation playoffs, Vejle is above the relegation zone with 25 points, while both Lyngby and AaB are below the relegation zone with 24 points. In other words, the drama can hardly get any more exciting.

Lyngby was hampered by missing the suspended Lucas Lissens, Magnus Jensen and Mathias Hebo, and Vejle took advantage of that from the start.

Already after six minutes Dimitrios Emmanouilidis served up a beautiful through-ball for Anders K. Jacobsen who cooly lobbed it over Jonathan Aegidius for an early lead.

Jacobsen was previously known as a frequent goalscorer, but the vital strike on Monday was actually his first for Vejle in 38 Super League games.

Lyngby did have a chance to restore parity through Frederik Gytkjaer, but Igor Vekic saved the flat attempt. Emmanouilidis also had the chance to give the hosts a double lead but his header sailed just wide as Vejle headed for the interval with a slim lead.

In the second half, Vejle focused mostly on defending, allowing the visitors to seize the initiative but Lyngby didn't have the key to open the Vejle-defense.

Lyngby sent Jonathan Amon into action after an hour, but it was of little use. Nothing creative came from the away team, and instead Vejle doubled the lead in the dying seconds, when substitute Musa Juwara made it 2-0 from a completely unmarked position.

Chances are you’re about to lose.
