Nigeria captain William Troost-Ekong has shared his team’s mindset ahead of Nigeria’s crucial World Cup qualifying clash against Rwanda.

The Super Eagles must beat the East African side to revive their dwindling hopes of qualifying for the World Cup, set to be co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

For the Saudi Arabia-based defender, a victory over Amavubi would strengthen the three-time African champions’ hopes of qualifying for the World Cup, the ultimate dream of every footballer.

"We are ready for our game plan. We have a good training session and I know my players," Troost-Ekong told the media.

"We need to be serious to win the game (on Saturday). My team is motivated, and we have spoken about the gravity of the game.

"Winning the match against Rwanda will give us hope because we have a good team.

"Our desire and willingness to play at the World Cup is still the same. We know what it is to play in a big tournament like the World Cup.

"I was part of the team in Russia 2018, and it was a memorable experience. I know everyone is willing to give their best on the field. We know we have to keep fighting and not give up.

"We will give our best from the first minute, and give our all on the pitch because it’s important for us to beat Rwanda."
