Live sites around the country will be pumping thanks to some Aussie-friendly kick-off times for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Australia's opening match will take place against one of the UEFA play-off winners at 2pm AEST on a Saturday afternoon before another midday eastern kickoff the Friday of the following week when they play against Paraguay in San Francisco.
The highly anticipated clash with co-hosts USA in Seattle will kick off at 5am AEST on Saturday 20 June, guaranteeing many early nights sleep will be had the previous night.
“We have been preparing for many months, but now we can plan with certainty, knowing our match schedule and kick-off times for the FIFA World Cup," head coach Tony Popovic said in a brief statement.
“We will have a tough group regardless of who qualifies from UEFA, but we will go in with a lot of optimism and confidence.
“We know many Australian fans are planning on travelling, and we look forward to having strong support from them.”
