Danish international striker, Kasper Hogh, who is set to make his debut for Denmark in the crucial World Cup qualifying match against North Macedonia on Thursday night, says to Danish media that 'finding God' has been the key reason for his improved goalscoring form, which helped Bodo/Glimt reach the 1/8-final in the Champions League.

In just a few years, the 25-year-old striker has gone from being surplus to requirements in crisis-hit AaB in the second-best Danish domestic league to scoring goals at will for Bodo/Glimt against top European clubs in the Champions League.

Hogh says that the reason for the incredible development of his career during the last few years is due to him 'find God.

"I have found God. That is the reason why I am sitting here today - and thank God for that", says Kasper Hogh when asked about what has been the reason for his vastly improved goalscoring form.

He further explains that he has learned from the past, where he was labeled as a type who focused on many things other than what goes on inside the pitch.

"It's about self-awareness, and that I've gotten older. You learn from your mistakes, and I've found that I was to blame for what happened in the past", says Hogh.

The Bodo/Glimt striker himself points to a head injury back in August 2022 as the starting point for his new personal journey.

"There have been a few incidents. Both when I hit my head, when some things dawned on me, but also afterwards, there have been small injuries and stupid things where I thought: 'It can't be right that it's my fault,' but it was, and then I had to look inward", says Hogh.

After joining Bodo/Glimt at the beginning of 2024, Kasper Hogh felt a change, as he opened his eyes to Christianity, where he had a revelation with then Danish teammate Albert Gronbaek

"I found an inner peace. It started with me buying the Bible and sitting down to read it to try to understand some things.

For me, it's about being a good person with the qualities and values inherent in that. That's not to say that everyone has to do it and that it's the right thing to do, but that's what I've done", says Hogh and explains that it began with Albert Gronbaek. "We lay and read the Bible and prayed when we lived together", says Hogh, who reveals that Christianity has changed him as a person.

"100 percent. I have changed. I'm still a happy boy, and I still want to have fun, but I think I've learned when to turn up the heat and when to turn it down", says Hogh.

Hogh is likely to get his international debut for Denmark when they face North Macedonia in the Parken stadium in Copenhagen on Thursday evening in the World Cup qualification playoff semi-final.
