Denmark will field five new players in defense compared to the last international match against Scotland when they take on North Macedonia in the crucial World Cup qualifying playoff match tonight at Parken Stadium.

In the absence of Joachim Andersen, who is serving a ban, and Andreas Christensen, who is injured, Brian Riemer has chosen to play Arsenal's Christian Norgaard in central defence.

He will be partnered by Verona's Victor Nelsson.

Denmark will have one debutant between the posts. After 32 games on the bench, Mads Hermansen will get his first international cap for Denmark.

Brian Riemer is also pleased that Mikkel Damgaard is ready to start the match after sitting out the weekend for Brentford.

Damsgaard has been struggling with knee problems, but has trained the past two days in Helsingore and is ready to start the match.

Denmark will start with the following team:

Mads Hermansen – Alexander Bah, Christian Norgaard, Victor Nelsson, Joakim Maehle – Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Morten Hjulmand, Victor Froholdt – Gustav Isaksen, Rasmus Hojlund, Mikkel Damsgaard.
