It was another thrilling weekend across the world's top leagues with Antony and Pedro Goncalves among a host of impressive performers. As always, we've used our internal rating system to pick out a best XI from all the action.

Here is our latest Team of the Week:

Goalkeeper

Joel Drommel (Sparta Rotterdam) 9.6

While Sparta Rotterdam fell to a 1-0 home defeat against AZ Alkmaar on Sunday, the hosts were indebted to goalkeeper Drommel throughout the contest, as the 28-year-old produced an inspired display between the sticks.

Drommel single-handedly kept Maurice Steijn’s men in the match, making 13 saves in total, including a superb first-half penalty stop to deny Troy Parrott.

Defence

Mike te Wierik (Heracles) 8.7

Te Wierik is the first of three Heracles players in our latest Team of the Week, with the right-back playing a starring role in his side’s stunning 8-2 victory over Zwolle.

Not only did the Dutchman score his first of the season with a well-taken header, but he also won seven duels and made two key tackles during his 68 minutes on the pitch.

Tomas Vlcek (Slavia Prague) 9.2

Slavia moved top of the Czech top flight over the weekend after their 2-0 win against Ostrava was followed by dropped points for local rivals Sparta.

Centre-back Vlcek was influential in Slavia picking up three points, with the 24-year-old heading home from Tomas Chory’s flick-on to break the deadlock shortly before the hour mark.

Maximilian Arfsten (Columbus Crew) 10

Arfsten enjoyed a perfect Sunday evening for the Columbus Crew in the MLS playoffs as the Black and Gold dismantled FC Cincinnati 4-0 in convincing fashion.

The left-back opened the scoring with a composed finish into the roof of the net before laying on two assists midway through the second half to secure a richly deserved 10 rating.

Midfield

Diego Gomez (Brighton) 9.3

Brighton proved too strong for Leeds in a 3-0 win on Saturday afternoon, as Gomez netted his first Premier League goals of the season for the Seagulls.

The Paraguayan found himself in the right place at the right time to convert a clinical second-half brace, while also winning nine key duels for Fabian Hurzeler’s men.

Ajdin Hrustic (Heracles) 9.2

Joining teammate Te Wierik in our side is Heracles midfielder Hrustic, who registered two assists in Heraclieden's thumping victory over Zwolle.

The Australian created five big chances throughout the contest, as well as completing 87% of his passes and winning 90% of ground duels.

Pedro Goncalves (Sporting CP) 9.1

Sporting CP claimed a fifth successive win across all competitions after Friday’s 2-0 home triumph over lowly Alverca.

Goncalves continued his excellent run of form, setting up Fotis Ioannidis’ opener before scoring his eighth of the campaign with a spectacular long-range strike.

Sidny Cabral (Estrela da Amadora) 10

Cabral is the recipient of our second perfect score, with the Cape Verde international netting his first career hat-trick in Estrela’s thrilling 5-3 victory at Casa Pia.

Having converted twice from the penalty spot in a topsy-turvy affair, Cabral sealed his treble late in the second half with a superb solo effort. He also completed 75% of his dribbles and won six ground duels in an impressive all-round display.

Attack

Antony (Real Betis) 9

Antony’s renaissance at Betis shows no signs of slowing down, with the mercurial Brazilian producing a stellar performance in Sunday’s 3-0 triumph over Mallorca.

The 25-year-old fired Los Verdiblancos into a two-goal lead with a pair of sublime strikes from outside the box, before setting up Abde Ezzalzouli for his first LaLiga assist of the season.

Jizz Hornkamp (Heracles) 9.7

Our third and final Heracles player to make the cut is Hornkamp, who netted a clinical first-half hat-trick in his side’s thrashing of Zwolle.

The pick of the Dutchman’s goals was his first - a clever piece of footwork on the edge of the box followed by an unerring finish into the bottom corner.

Stefano Moreo (Pisa) 9.3

Despite squandering a 2-0 lead against Torino, Pisa picked up a valuable away point in Serie A to stay out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Moreo was the visitors' standout performer, with the forward scoring a brace inside the opening half-hour - his first-ever goals in the Italian top flight.
