The third-round action continues at the Australian Open today, with Jannik Sinner, Iga Swiatek and Novak Djokovic among the headline names taking to the court.

14:50 CET - That is where we leave you! Be sure to come back tonight, though, as the fourth round gets underway...

14:38 CET - Despite a mini scare when he dropped the third set, 12th seed Casper Ruud kept his composure to see off veteran Marin Cilic and book his place in the fourth round. Ruud defeated Cilic 6-4, 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 and will face Ben Shelton in the next round.

13:50 CET - Jakub Mensik is through in Melbourne! The rising star of men's tennis has had some challenges in his first three rounds, but he made no mistake in dispatching Ethan Quinn 6-2, 7-6 (5), 7-6 (5) to book a fourth round spot.

12:08 CET - He might not have been in the best of moods and was lucky he didn't hit a ball girl with a frustrated lash of the ball, but Novak Djokovic is through to the Australian Open fourth round after downing Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (4).

11:00 CET - After a major blip in the second set where her level seriously dropped, Iga Swiatek rediscovered her best touch just when she needed to, eventually winning 6-1, 1-6, 6-1 in a rollercoaster contest with Anna Kalinskaya.

10:45 CET - Over on the women's side of the draw, and there has been somewhat of an upset as Xinyu Wang has beaten 13th seed Linda Noskova 7-5, 6-4 to book her place in the fourth round.

10:40 CET - In the final match at the Australian Open for fan favourite and former Grand Slam champion Stan Warwinka, the Swiss veteran put up a fight against ninth seed Taylor Fritz but ultimately fell short.

American Fritz far from had it all his own way but his higher ranking and youthful energy saw him through in the end, winning 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.

The two-time defending champion had an uncharacteristic performance in the match, hitting a whopping 51 unforced errors. Still, it proved to be just enough for him to move on in the torunament.

05:10 CET - A cracking five-set encounter goes the way of Lorenzo Musetti, who edges Tomas Machac 5-7, 6-4. 6-2, 5-7, 6-2. The fifth seed won 73% of his first serve points, which played a role in him being able to advance.

04:40 CET - Play has been paused on the outer courts due to extreme heat in Melbourne. The courts with the retractable roofs are able to continue upon the closing of the roof.

04:10 CET - The 22nd seed Luciano Darderi moves into the second week in Melbourne after the Italian prevailed against Karen Khachanov 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Hitting 19 aces, Darderi did enough to win the last two sets and make the fourth round.

03:30 CET - Amanda Anisimova is into the next round at the Australian Open thanks to a straight set win over Peyton Stearns. The match, which ended 6-1, 6-4 in the fourth seed's favour, lasted 72 minutes as Anisimova made the most of five of her chances to break.

02:00 CET - Madison Keys booked her place in the last 16 thanks to a 6-3, 6-3 defeat of Karolina Pliskova. The defending champion converted four of her nine break point opportunities, paving the way to her 10th successive win down under.

01:50 CET - Jessica Pegula makes it through to the fourth round after a fairly straightforward 6-3, 6-2 victory over Oksana Selekhmeteva. The sixth seed lost just three of her first serve points, as she managed to get the job done in just over an hour.
