Danish tennis star Holger Rune has painted his racket black to conceal the fact that he will be testing a new racket type for the Davis Cup clash against Spain this weekend and during the Rod Laver Cup which will start on 19 September

"It's true. It's not a secret, and now I'm trying to see how I feel for the Davis Cup and Rod Laver Cup, and then we'll have to see in the future", says Holger Rune to dr.dk

The Dane has played with a racquet from Babolat throughout most of his career, but after the US Open, where Rune crashed out in the second round at the end of August, he has started testing a new racket as his contract with Babolat runs out this year.

"I've been training with it right after the US Open, so I've got the rhythm in the racket, and for me it's the perfect time to do it, because I'd rather not be standing later in the year and having to think about what I'm going to play with. It is now", says Holger Rune.

Davis Cup captain Frederik Lochte Nielsen is not concerned that Rune will be testing a new racket during the Davis Cup match.

"If Holger feels that it is best for his tennis, he must do it. I'm not worried about Holger. He can play with a toilet seat tied to a broomstick and I'd still be calm", says Lochte Nielsen.

The Davis Cup clash against Spain is played this weekend on the 13th and 14th of September.
