By the end of the day's play, we will know who will be facing off in the fourth round at Indian Wells, as the tournament begins to really heat up and the world's best players start to be truly tested.

09:51 CET - For those of you yet to catch up on what's happened at Indian Wells over the last day, you can scroll down here or check out our roundup of all the third-round action here.

The round of 16 will begin at 19:00 CET and we'll be back with a new tracker to keep you up to date through the night. See you then!

07:52 CET - The final match of the round on the women's side saw sixth seed Jasmine Paolini see off a tough test from Jaqueline Cristian, coming from behind to win 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

07:47 CET - Wow. We've just witnessed an epic. Grigor Dimitrov has prevailed in a gruelling battle with Gael Monfils, beating the Frenchman 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 after just over three hours. Both veterans had their physical issues in what turned into a battle of attrition, but Dimitrov played some tennis that could trouble Carlos Alcaraz when they meet in the next round; he did knock the Spaniard out in Miami last year.

03:40 CET - Carlos Alcaraz defeats Denis Shapovalov in straight sets 6-2, 6-4, even hitting a bullet 113 mph forehand at one point in the match. The win now marks Alcarez's 14th straight win at Indian Wells and his fourth straight Round of 16 appearance at the Grand Slam of the West.

02:15 CET - Ben Shelton completes the second-set comeback to take down Karen Khachanov 6-3, 7-5 in a hard-fought match. The American has now made the Round of 16 at Indian Wells in back-to-back years.

00:31 CET - The top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka made quick work of Lucia Bronzetti, defeating her 6-1, 6-2 in straight sets in just over an hour and 15 minutes. This is now Sabalenka's fourth win at Indian Wells' Round of 16.

00:06 CET - Belinda Bencic is through to the last 16 thanks to a relatively comfortable 6-4, 6-4 win over Diana Shnaider.

Elsewhere, Brandon Nakashima has advanced to give the home crowd something to cheer, beating Matteo Arnaldi 6-2, 6-4.

Another American through to the last 16 is third seed Taylor Fritz. He had to come back from a set down against Alejandro Tabilo to win their contest 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.

22:54 CET - Coco Gauff has eased her way into the last 16 at Indian Wells with a straight-sets win over 29th seed Maria Sakkari. The American won the contest 7-6(1), 6-2 to progress.

22:31 CET - Alex De Minaur put the Indian Wells locker room on notice this evening with a stunning 6-4, 6-0 win over Hubert Hurkacz of Poland.

His return game was almost flawless, breaking the serve of his opponent four times on the way to victory.

22:08 CET - Britain's Sonay Kartal has reached the last 16 of a WTA 1000 event for the first time, after she saw off Polina Kudermetova 7-5, 6-3 - what a run for the world number 83.

21:58 CET - Madison Keys was made to work incredibly hard to make it into the last 16 at Indian Wells. The American battled hard to see off Elise Mertens 6-2, 6-7(8), 6-4 to advance.

20:52 CET - Our first result of the day is in with Francisco Cerundolo beating Botic Van De Zandschulp 6-3, 6-4. Meanwhile, 13th seed Jack Draper is through to the next round with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over American Jenson Brooksby.

18:57 CET - We are around five minutes from the start of play, with Jack Draper taking on Jenson Brooksby and Madison Keys facing Elise Mertens first up.
