Elmer Moller won the the second Challenger tournament of his career, when he on Sunday afternoon won 6-0, 6-4 over no 62 in the world rankings, the Argentinian Francisco Comesana.

Elmer Moller secured important points for the world rankings, when he won the Challenger tournament in Oeiras, Portugal, in dominant style on Sunday.

In the final, the 21-year-old Dane booked a convincing 6-0 6-4 win against top seed Francisco Comesana despite a slight lapse of concentration late in the second set.

Comesana was ranked 62 in the world rankings before the tournament. Elmer Moller was no 148.

Moller seized the initiative straight from the start in the final by breaking Comesana's serve and repeated the feat shortly after to take a 4-0 lead after 20 minutes and 13 minutes later took the first set 6-0 in superb fashion.

Moller began where he left off in the first set as he thanks to brilliant play from the baseline raced to a 4-0 lead in the second set before the tournament favorite managed to win his first game in the final.

Comesana also held his next serve, and managed to install a bit of exitement back into the final when he broke Moller's serve to reduce the gap to 3-5.

Comesana also made it 4-5 before Moller took home the tournament win on his first match point.

The young Dane began the tournament by defeating fourth-seeded Brazilian Thiago Monteiro, no 93 in the world.

A subsequent walkover gave him a place in the quarterfinals against the unheralded Swiss Remy Bertola, who was beaten in two sets.

Moller used the same number of sets to win the semi-final against second-seeded Roman Safiullin, who was ranked 36 in the world last year. The Russian is currently no 73.
