After three days of action, the second round of the Australian Open is finally getting underway, with world number ones Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka looking to continue their quests for the title.

14:39 CET - The final results are in for the day, with Frances Tiafoe seeing off Francisco Comesana 6-4, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, while on the women's side of the tournament, rising star Iva Jovic outclassed Aussie Priscilla Hon 6-1, 6-2.

13:52 CET - Women's seventh seed Jasmine Paolini has sealed her spot in the next round after a fairly routine 6-2, 6-3 success against Magdalena Frech.

12:45 CET - Home hope Alex de Minaur is safely into the third round, with the Aussie surviving a first-set scare to beat Hamad Medjedovic 6-7(5), 6-2, 6-2, 6-1.

Third seed Alexander Zverev has also advanced after a hard-fought 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 triumph over France's Alexandre Muller.

12:18 CET - Karolina Muchova has advanced in Melbourne after the Czech 19th seed recovered from a set down to beat Alycia Parks 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in two hours and 42 minutes.

Meanwhile, on the men's side of the draw, Cameron Norrie is through to the next round courtesy of a 6-1, 7-6(3), 4-6, 7-6(5) triumph against Emilio Nava.

10:29 CET - Women's eighth seed Mirra Andreeva and Poland's Magda Linette have eased through in Melbourne after impressive straight-set wins over Maria Sakkari and Ann Li, respectively.

10:20 CET - The mercurial Alexander Bublik is through to the third round of the Australian Open for the first time in his career after a convincing 7-5, 6-4, 7-5 victory over Marton Fucsovics.

08:53 CET - Alejandro Davidovich Fokina has come out on top in a five-set epic against Reilly Opelka, with the Spaniard prevailing 6-3, 7-6(3), 5-7, 4-6, 6-4 in just under four hours.

Learner Tien, Corentin Moutet and Nuno Borges are also through to the third round in Melbourne.

Meanwhile, on the women's side of the draw, Romania's Elena Gabriela Ruse is through after a 6-4, 6-4 triumph over home favourite Ajla Tomljanovic.

07:35 CET - Coco Gauff is safely through to the third round in Melbourne, with the American third seed dismantling Serbia's Olga Danilovic 6-2, 6-2 in just 78 minutes.

Next up for Gauff is a fascinating third-round clash with compatriot Hailey Baptiste.

07:24 CET - Men's top seed Carlos Alcaraz is a step closer to the Career Grand Slam, as the Spaniard battled through a competitive opening set to defeat Yannick Hanfmann 7-6(4), 6-3, 6-2.

04:15 CET - The action continues at the Australian Open as World's No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz takes on Yannick Hanfmann for the men's, while Coco Gauff is facing Olga Danilovic on the women's side!

04:13 CET - Anastasia Potapova upset Emma Raducanu in straight sets 7-6(3), 6-2 after coming back from down 3-5 in the first set. She's the first Austrian to make the third round at the Australian Open since 2021.

She'll now move to face Aryna Sabalenka in the next round. 

04:10 CET - After an intense first set, Daniil Medvedev finally came out on top after defeating Quentin Halys 6(9)-7(11), 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.

Medvedev now starts the season 7-0 for the first time in his career since 2021. 

03:15 CET - During the men's action, Tommy Paul won all of his service games (14/14) as he took down Thiago Agustin Tirante in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.

Paul advances to the third round for the fifth time in his career, where he possesses a 2-2 record.

03:10 CET - On the women's side, Turkey's own Zeynep Sonmez upset Anna Bondar in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.

She advances to the third round of the Australian Open for the first time in her entire career. 

03:05 CET - World's No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka took care of business after defeating Zhuoxuan Bai in straight sets 6-3, 6-1. She's now won 22 of her last 23 matches in Australia.

She'll be waiting to see who she faces next after Emma Raducanu and Anastasia Potapova face each other later on.

22:55 CET - Good evening and welcome back to the Tennis Tracker as the second round begins at the Australian Open!

The action starts on Rod Laver Arena at 01:30 CET, with two-time champion Aryna Sabalenka taking on qualifier Zhuoxuan Bai, which is followed by another world number one, Carlos Alcaraz. The Spaniard continues his quest for the Career Grand Slam against Yannick Hanfmann.

The night session sees home favourite Alex de Minaur face Hamad Medjedovic, and then another Australian favourite, Priscilla Hon, clashes with 18-year-old starlet Iva Jovic.

On Margaret Court Arena, Andrey Rublev comes up against Jaime Faria, before Coco Gauff goes head-to-head with Venus Williams' conqueror, Olga Danilovic.

At night, the superb Mirra Andreeva has the tricky test of Maria Sakkari, followed by Frances Tiafoe vs Francisco Comesana.

In other matches, Daniil Medvedev, Elina Svitolina, Alexander Zverev, Alexander Bublik, Jasmine Paolini, Tommy Paul, Victoria Mboko, Karolina Muchova and Emma Raducanu will all take to the court.
