The third-round action continues in Melbourne on Saturday, with several of the world's best players looking to seal their spot in the second week of the Australian Open.

16:10 CET - The third rounds are now complete on both the men's and women's side at the Australian Open, meaning only 16 players remain in each singles tournament! Tune in again later this evening as the fourth round gets started.

Check out the full men's schedule here.

14:47 CET - In the last match of the day at the Aussie Open, men's 13th seed Holger Rune (21) has edged Miomir Kecmanovic (25) 6-7, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 in another mammoth five-set battle that lasted three-and-a-half hours.

Rune has thus wrapped up the final last-16 berth on the men's side and will face number one Jannik Sinner (23) in the next round.

Catch up on all the men's results here.

13:23 CET - Madison Keys (29) has beaten fellow American and 10th seed Danielle Collins (31) 6-4, 6-4 in an hour and 20 minutes, with the latter leaving Melbourne as something of a nemesis to the Aussie crowd after clashing with them in her win over one of their own in the previous round.

Catch up on all the women's results here.

11:25 CET - Reigning champion Jannik Sinner (23) has made it through with ease, beating Marcos Giron (31) 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 in just under two hours. With the form he's in, you'd be a brave man to bet against him retaining his title.

11:01 CET - Talk about a power couple! Hours after her husband Gael Monfils (38) knocked out the men's fourth seed, Elina Svitolina (30) has done the same on the women's side!

The Ukrainian has beaten Jasmine Paolini (29) 2-6, 6-4, 6-0 to move into the last 16 for the second year in a row.

10:12 CET - What a day this has been for young Americans! The third of them has reached the last 16 of the men's draw with Ben Shelton (22) beating Lorenzo Musetti (22) 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6. There was very little to choose between the two, but Shelton stepped up in the big moments.

08:52 CET - Another seed has fallen with world number 17 Beatriz Haddad Maia (28) losing 6-4, 6-2 to Veronika Kudermetova (27), who has reached the fourth round of a slam for the first time since 2022.

08:34 CET - The Learner Tien (19) show goes on! The teenage sensation has moved into the last 16 on his Australian Open debut with a 7-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Corentin Moutet (25). He's the youngest man since Rafael Nadal to get this far in Melbourne.

08:22 CET - Aussie number one Alex De Minaur (26) has come from behind to progress on home turf, beating Francisco Cerundolo (26) 5-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-3 and setting up a clash with young American Alex Michelsen (20).

07:26 CET - What a win for Gael Monfils (38)! The French veteran has beaten world number four Taylor Fritz (27) 3-6, 7-5, 7-6, 6-4 and has now won eight matches in a row. This is some start to the season for him.

05:45 CET - She was made to work for it, but in the end, Elena Rybakina (25) successfully negotiates her third-round match, beating Dayana Yastremska (24) 6-3, 6-4. The Ukrainian had more than double the unforced errors, and despite breaking the world number seven once, she could not handle Rybakina's power. The 2023 finalist is back in the second week of the Aussie Open, having lost in the second round last year.

05:10 CET - The fairytale run continues to Eva Lys (23), who knocks out Jaqueline Cristian (26) 4-6, 6-3, 6-3. Winning 74% of her first serve points, the German lucky loser advances to the second week of a major for the very first time. She also hit 34 winners in the match, more than double Cristian's total of 16.

04:30 CET - Daria Kasatkina (27) defeats Yulia Putinseva (30) 7-5, 6-1 in what was a match of two contrasting sets. The world number 10 converted all six break point opportunities as she powered through the second set to progress. Despite seven double faults on her serve, she improved in the second set to move on to the fourth round.

03:45 CET - Emma Navarro (23) also moves on, as she gets the better of Ons Jabeur (30) 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. In what was a back-and-forth tussle, which saw a total of 18 breaks of serve throughout the match, it was the American who held her nerve in the end. Jabeur had more than double the winners in this one (31-13), but also nearly two times more unforced errors (58-32), which played its part in the result.

03:35 CET - Alex Michelsen (20) is into the fourth round of the Australian Open for the very first time, as he takes down Karen Khachanov (28) 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-2. The American hit 39 winners while converting all four of his break point chances in the match. Despite having 14 aces throughout the match, Khachanov could not keep up with his opponent's level, and is knocked out at this stage for the fifth time in his career.

02:55 CET - It was no nonsense from Iga Swiatek (23) as the world number two defeats Emma Raducanu (22) 6-1, 6-0 to progress to the fourth round. The Pole was nearly unstoppable on her serve, as she won 83% of her first serve points, while never facing a break point. Raducanu hit 22 unforced errors in comparison to Swiatek's 12 as the latter makes the fourth round down under for the fifth time in the last six years.

23:40 CET - With play still over an hour away, why don't you check out the five best highlights from day six?
